Delete Group

This guide provides troubleshooting steps to resolve Delete Group problems in the Loft App.

1. Devices Still Exist in Group

Possible Cause:

  • The group cannot be deleted because one or more devices are still linked or present within it.
  • The Loft App prevents deletion of groups containing devices to avoid breaking existing control configurations.

Solutions:

  • Open the Loft App → Rooms Section.
  • Tap on the room containing the group you want to delete.
  • Go to the Group Section and select the desired group.
  • Check if any devices are still added to that group.
  • Remove or unassign all devices from the group.
  • Once the group is empty (no devices assigned), tap the three dots (⁝) icon beside the group.
  • Select Delete, and confirm the deletion when prompted.
2. Group is Assigned Somewhere

Possible Cause:

  • The group cannot be deleted if it is still assigned to another control or automation component, such as a BLE Remote, Panel etc.
  • Deleting a group that is still assigned may cause dependency issues, so the system restricts its deletion.

Solutions:

  • Identify where the group is currently assigned (e.g., in BLE Remote, Panel, or Anywhere else).
  • Open the corresponding control module in the Loft App and unassign or remove the group from that configuration.
  • Once the group is no longer assigned anywhere, return to the Group Section.
  • Tap the three dots (⁝) icon beside the group and select Delete to remove it successfully.

Note:
A group can only be deleted when it contains no devices.
Ensure all devices are removed or relocated before attempting to delete the group to avoid errors.
