This guide provides troubleshooting steps to resolve Install Device problems in the Loft App.

If your device fails to install during the setup process, it may be due to several possible causes. Review the following troubleshooting points to identify and fix the issue.


1. Brand Mismatch Issue

Possible Causes:

  • The device is from a brand not supported by the Loft ecosystem.
  • You are attempting to install a incompatible device with the Loft App.

Solutions:

  • Ensure that your device belongs to and supports the Loft brand ecosystem.
  • Only Loft devices can be installed and configured through the Loft App.
2. Range Issue

Possible Causes:

  • The device is too far from your mobile device during installation.
  • Weak Bluetooth or Wi-Fi signal preventing stable connection.

Solutions:

  • Bring your phone closer to the device during installation.
  • Ensure the device is within the supported range for pairing.
  • Avoid thick walls, metal obstructions, or long distances between devices.
3. Bluetooth Connectivity Issue

Possible Causes:

  • Bluetooth is already connected to other devices (e.g., headsets, speakers, smartwatches).
  • Android and iOS devices have limits on simultaneous Bluetooth connections.
  • Conflicting connections prevent Loft App from pairing successfully.

Solutions:

  • Turn Bluetooth off and back on before retrying installation.
  • Disconnect or unpair unused Bluetooth devices.
  • Restart your phone and retry installation in the Loft App.
  • Ensure Loft App has Bluetooth permission enabled in phone settings.

4. Provisioning Address Error

Possible Causes:

  • During installation, an internal error occurs due to communication delay.
  • The app shows an error like “Provisioning”, “Conflict”, “Address”, etc., issue.

Solutions:

  • Retry installation after restarting the Loft App.
  • Ensure the device is in reset/pairing mode before retrying.
  • If the error persists, follow the Troubleshoot Device procedure.

5. Multiple Installation Attempts at the Same Time

Possible Causes:

  • The same device is being installed on multiple phones or accounts simultaneously.
  • Overlapping installation attempts cause the process to fail.

Solutions:

  • Install the device on only one account/device at a time.
  • Wait for a few minutes before retrying another installation.
  • Ensure no other Loft users are trying to pair the same device concurrently.
